Shipping Policy – Salt Gear


  • Delivery times vary between 5 – 7 working days depending on your area. Outlying areas may take longer, might be more expensive and the shipping quote can change depending on the outlying area. This delivery time might also be extended due to unforeseen circumstances due to the current lockdown status of South Africa. If your choice of leather is not available, then you will be contacted with alternative options which may extend the delivery time. Salt Gear will contact you if the shipping quote is more expensive. You may be contacted by a third party with your reference number to clarify or confirm any details of your order.


  • Delivery will be done via Fastway couriers or The Courier Guy (the choice of the company). These prices are estimated prices, if you are in an outlying area, we will contact you with the exact cost we have received once the courier sends us a quote. If there is an additional amount due above what has been paid, we reserve the right to request additional payment or for us to send the package to a more central location.


We shall use our best endeavors to ensure that all products purchased on the Salt Gear website:

  • Will be delivered to major city centers within the estimated shipping time.
  • We do not process over weekends & public holidays (excluding the Black Friday Period).
  • All orders placed and successfully paid will be processed within 24-72 hours from the first working day after the order is placed.
  • By placing an order, you understand and agree that any person other than yourself who receives the products at the delivery address nominated by you to us, shall be conclusively presumed to be authorized to accept delivery on your behalf.
  • Should no one attend your nominated delivery address at the time of delivery, the courier will try and contact you to deliver again the following day. If the courier cannot deliver at your nominated address and cannot get in contact with you, the package will be returned to Salt Gear.
  • We reserve the right to charge an additional delivery fee should it be required to make a further delivery if no one is at your nominated delivery address to receive the products on agreed
    delivery day.
  • Our liability for failing to deliver the products on the agreed delivery day, or at all, is limited to ensuring that the products are delivered at a later agreed time at an additional charge to you if required.
  • You are obliged to ensure that you or an authorized person shall attend at the delivery address during the agreed delivery day and that appropriate access to the delivery address will be made available to the courier.
  • Any person accepting delivery of the products at the delivery address nominated by you shall be requested to confirm his/her acceptance of the products, and that the products were in a satisfactory condition by signing & printing his/her name on the accompanying delivery slip,
    failing which the products shall not be released into his/her custody.
  • Should you instruct us to make delivery to any person or address other than the person or address originally nominated by you for delivery, we shall not be liable for any loss or damage, or for any discrepancy in the order, arising out of delivery to an alternative person or address.
